The CJ Project
Acoustic Rock Duo from Nolensville, TN
Carol was born with music in her blood and rock in her soul. From an early age, she immersed herself in the world of music, playing along side her dad on bluegrass jam sessions and teaching herself the ropes. At just fifteen, Carol formed her first band, Revelation, which performed locally and earned several accolades in competitions.
In 1994, Carol teamed up with a former bandmate to create The Belle Curves, an all-female duo that quickly made waves in the music scene. After releasing a self-titled CD in 1995, The Belle Curves toured across the U.S. performing in nightclubs and selling thousands of CDs, many of which have since become collector's items.
In 1996, Carol branched out on her own, releasing numerous independent CDs that received significant airplay and were featured in magazines and publications. Carol's musical influences are vast, from the hard rock sounds of Mötley Crüe, Van Halen, Ratt, and Bon Jovi to the powerful voices of Melissa Etheridge, Joan Jett, and Sheryl Crow. Her unique sound blends elements of rock and empowerment, creating a musical identity all her own.
A proud native of Beech Bluff, Tennessee, Carol carved out a niche in Memphis, the birthplace of rock and roll. Her talent and dedication earned her the 2000 Premier Player "Newcomer of the Year" award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, and she was nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year in 2002.
Carol's career continued to soar with appearances on national platforms, including the Food Network's "Food Nation with Bobby Flay" in 2002, which aired to over 20 million viewers. Her music from the 2001 album A Piece of Me was featured throughout the episode. Carol has also performed at notable events such as the 1996 Summer Olympics, the GoGirls SXSW Showcase in Austin, and the Memphis In May Beale Street Music Festival, which draws over 175,000 attendees.
With a growing cult following and a distinct style, Carol continues to captivate audiences across the nation, solidifying her place in rock history.
